This was supposed to be a run of 4.5 kms, but the organizers forget to put up the finish line and the crowd ran a further 3 kms before realising that they had run that extra miles… This isnt a joke but actually happened at the AIDS Charity Run held in Pune yesterday. While the distance to be covered was 4.5 kms, the organizers dint have any markers or a finish line or even a MotorCyclist. The net result was that some of the participants ran more than 3 kms extra before realsing they had run that many kms extra.
There was the usual glamour crowd comprising of Priyanka Chopra who flagged the run off. Vijender Singh, Olympic swimmer Veerdhaval Khade, shooter Anjali Vedpathak-Bhagwat, Olympian Dhanraj Pillay. Actor Rahul Bose made his third appearance in a row at the marathon and egged the participants on.
It certainly pays to have no finishing line. Just that you paid by burning a few calories more.
