The recession seems to have hit everyone from the top to the bottom of the food chain. This includes the sports industry from Meerut. Meerut is the common man’s sports shop. The common man would get from Meerut goods which would be much lower cost. They sure arent the best, but they are affordable to the common man.
But this industry has been hot very hard. Sky rocketing prices of raw materials coupled with a rather long monsoon has driven sales down. In a normal season an average small time goods manufacturer would have sold around 500 pieces of his cricket bats , but this time the customers arent biting. So there he goes with a drastic fall in sales and hurting him bad financially.
The point here is , these people are suffering though they are a world away from the economic crises for which they werent responsible, as well as had no clue of.
