Here is something that would warm the hearts of every Indian. Chetan Anand has won the Bitburger open being held in Germany. In the process, he has become the first Indian to win a Grand Prix tournament. The icing on the cake was it was an all Indian Final, with the other finalist being Arvind Bhat from India. While this might take of some sheen off, the win nevertheless is a whammo for Indian Badminton. The final score read 23-25, 24-22, 23-21
Even better was the win of V Diju and Jwala Gutta in the mixed doubles. So there we are with 2 titles in a single tournament. They defeated Joachim Fischer Nielsen and Christinna Pedersen of Denmark. The final score read 8-21, 21-17, 22-2.
