7 member wrestling team for CYG 2008

The Wrestling Federation of India has announced the selection of a 7 member team for the forth coming Commonwealth Youth Games. The Squad is as follows

THE SQUAD 42-kg: Amit Patil (SSCB); 46-kg: Deepal Rampal (Delhi); 50-kg: Amit Kumar (Haryana); 54-kg: Jitender Kumar (Delhi); 58-kg: Rahul Aware (Maharashtra); 63-kg: Ranjeet Nalawade (Maharashtra); 69-kg: Pravin Rana (Delhi); Chief Coach: P R Sondhi Assistant coaches: Raj Singh Chikara (Haryana) and Laxmishankar Yadav (Maharashtra) Manager: Jasram Singh (Delhi) Masseur: Gajanan Prabhakar Asolkar (Maharashtra). The WFI has promised that the team will make a clean sweep of all the medals in the games. That claim is something only time can answer though 🙂

The Wrestling Federation of India has been directed to come up with a site, that will provide names, profiles, facilities available across the country, National and international competitions, details of various federations wrt wrestling Indian and International.

While the intentions of the site is very much appreciated, it is only time that will tell us , if the same spirit will be maintained all along.
